New version 24.3.2 of Domus.Cad
Irene Chirico held a formative curricular internship at Interstudio where she deepened the techniques of treatment of points clouds. The internship is part of the 3D Data Processing and Collection course, carried out by IED, Istituto Europeo di Design Spa, in collaboration with Regione Toscana.
The internship was carried out using the Domus.Cad BIM program and in particular its advanced functions of point cloud management and architectural design.
Learning
In the first phase of the internship Irene learned the basic use of the Domus.Cad. Using the tutorials, videos and documentation he has practiced on using the various functions of the program.
He also learned how to import and visualize point clouds in various ways, such as creating sections, elevations, visualizations, measurements, and navigating them.
Case study
In the second phase of her internship, Irene began to apply her knowledge of the practical case of the relief through a cloud of points in a church.
The work consisted in superimposing the cloud of points, represented in various ways according to the convenience of the operation performed, architectural elements such as walls, windows, roofs, ceilings, vaults etc.

The perfect overlap between the cloud of points and the BIM design allows you to immediately verify the correctness of the reconstruction.

Details of the point cloud were used to accurately reproduce even complex architectural elements.
Below we see, for example, that the profile of the pinnacle of the bell tower was used to generate the architectural model for rotation.
The final drawing
The final phase of the internship was reserved for the preparation of the project documentation and in particular for the layout of the drawing sheets.
