Domus.Cad – Version history

Domus.Cad 25.1.3

Differences from version 25.1.2

Changes

  • Added save selected image function from edit menu.
  • Added the ability to not compact meshes based on materials when importing the 3D model. Compaction speeds up rendering significantly, but it doesn’t preempt separating the elements of a composite mesh.

Insertion with 2 clicks

2-click input mode has been added for lines, walls, coves, rectangles, circles, and arcs.

Ralways imane the Mouse Click – Drag – Release insertion mode, which is the default mode.

The 2-click insert choice is inside the Domus preferences dialog.

Move from the centre

The elements circles, oval, rectangle and arc can be moved by clicking on the center.

  • Tetti con fori calcolo sul poligono in pianta
  • Copia su pianta e salvataggio rendering avanzato mette lo sfondo se scelto
  • Corretta calcolaAltezzeVertici i fori non venivano calcolati correttamente
  • Corretto undo congiungi e taglia segmenti
  • Corrette preferenze cambio modalita cerchio
  • Corretto bug archiviazione tavole. Venivano archiviate anche quelle cancellate
  • Risolto problema nella scelta dei colori e parametri di default quando c’era un elemento selezionato al momento di cambio di modalità tra freccia e penna.

Domus.Cad 25.0.3

Differences from version 25

  • Correct cut function, above a certain scale segments may not be cut correctly
  • Fixed object creation bug, cylinder was leaking material
  • Fixed bug on circular fittings

Domus.Cad 25

Differences from version 24.3.3

Advanced rendering

Domus.Cad’s basic rendering is based on the OGRE rendering engine, which is characterized by a high operating speed, such that everything is displayed in real time.

Advanced rendering, on the other hand, aims to be as faithful a representation of reality as possible.

To achieve this result, two quality rendering engines are used: Path Tracing and SciVi

OSPRay’s Path Tracing is a rendering mode based on path tracing, which is an advanced ray tracing technique. It focuses on the realistic simulation of light, generating photo-realistic images thanks to the management of reflections, refractions, shadows and global illumination.

This type of rendering is ideal for applications that require a high level of realism, such as scientific visualizations, architectural simulations, or cinematic visual effects.

SciVis Rendering in OSPRay is a rendering mode designed for advanced visualization of scientific data. It supports techniques such as volumetric rendering, surface and line rendering, and offers optimizations for interactive, high-performance rendering.

SciVis is ideal for exploring scientific simulations, volumetric data, and other complex datasets, such as those from physical experiments or numerical simulations.

In the figure below we see the main advanced rendering window.

Advanced rendering is progressive, runs in the background allowing you to work while rendering proceeds which continuously improves. It stops after a certain number of iterations or when the user wants it.

In addition to the materials already present, advanced rendering also handles special materials, in the figure below we see the materials aluminum, silver, gold, chromium and copper.

Element Lock-Unlock

All drawing elements can be locked and locked using the buttons below in the inspector panel at the bottom

The top button unlocks previously locked elements and the bottom button locks it.

Locked items can be selected but cannot be moved.

Locked items can be selected via parametric selection and unlocked all with the Unlock All command from the Edit menu.

Extended Selection

Extended selection allows you to select elements included or touched by another selected element, or within a curve drawn with the mouse.

Selection is done with the Options->Extended Selection command, or with the icon

In the example below, the elements are selected by the red line that intersects them.

If no element is selected, the lasso function starts, which allows you to select the elements included in a freehand curve.

The selection is by default on the current item type, unless you hold down the Ctrl (Win) or Command (MacOs) key.

Selection rectangle

Allows you to set the mode to select items via a selection rectangle.

Intersected elements

If this option is enabled, all included elements are selected and also partially intersected by the select rectangle.

Without isolated handles

This option is enabled if an item is selected all handles of the item are always selected and no isolated handles remain. In this way, by moving one of the handles, the entire element is moved without deformations. This option does not need to be enabled if you want to deform an element.

Clearing cloud points

The point cloud dialog can be reduced to be able to perform operations with simplified and invisible points without actually having to delete them.

A message was also posted when pressing OK because in this case the deletion becomes final and not voidable.

Axonometry in 3D view

Axonometric view management in 3D view has been improved as follows:

  • The default views (front, side, supra etc) perform an automatic field width calculation so that the view enters the window completely.
  • The cursor at the top shows the current field width in the center. They move the cursor the amplitude is changed up or down When the mouse moves the cursor to the center on the new field amplitude.

Paging

Two new features have been added to the pagination window.

Duplicate table, in the table creation dialog

Change plan, which allows you to change an already paginated and selected plan with another work plan without changing its position and scale.

Quick update

The Quick Update command in the Help menu allows you to quickly update the program for minor changes that do not involve changes to the manual, libraries, or anything else. During the update the program is closed, possibly asking to save any jobs.

Fixes and improvements

  • The values of ambient light and sky light are now saved and remembered.
  • The program remembers the last folder where library objects were taken.
  • Fixed an issue moving a multiple quota selection with the arrow keys
  • In printing now remember the page size set to sheet size in saving and printing to PDF even when the initially chosen printer is not by default
  • Fixed deletion of plans immediately after they were added in the plans dialog
  • Fixed an inconsistency in rotating elements with different methods
  • Fixed selection issue with Alt or Command-Alt
  • Bug undo restore group in object
  • Now it is possible to delete quota points even with three points
  • Improved palette layout for low-resolution screens or, on Windows, with screen scaling enabled
  • Improved selection of rectangles and clouds
  • Fixed bug saving broken floor holes now deleted ones are not archived
  • Fixed bug saving odds, rounding option was not saved.
  • Copy properties of openings also copies all features of openings such as bouquets, sills, etc.
  • Fixed translation of the quote arrow keys. Now he doesn’t consider the lyrics
