The new version 25 of Domus.Cad has been released with really important news, let’s see some of them.
Advanced rendering
Domus.Cad had in previous versions two types of rendering: a photorealistic rendering in real time, able to quickly show every variation of the project and to navigate in real time inside and through it and combined vector rendering that generates the same views rendered as technical drawings with colored lines and polygons.
An advanced rendering has been added to these, with the aim of providing a representation as faithful as possible to reality.
Two quality rendering engines are used to achieve this: Path Tracing and SciVi
Path Tracing by OSPRay is a rendering mode based on path tracing, which is an advanced ray tracing technique. Focuses on realistic light simulation, generating photo-realistic images by managing reflections, refractions, shadows and global lighting.
SciVis is ideal for exploring scientific simulations, volumetric data and other complex datasets, such as those from physical experiments or numerical simulations.
In the figure below we see the main window of the advanced rendering.

Advanced rendering is progressive, it works in the background allowing you to work while the rendering is going on and improving continuously. It stops after a certain number of iterations or when the user wants.
In addition to the materials already present, the advanced rendering also manages special materials, in the figure below we see the aluminum, silver, gold, chrome and copper materials.

The following image shows the 3 rendering types of Domus.Cad: advanced in the middle, fast in real time in the upper right and vector in the lower right.
Extended selection
Extended selection allows you to select elements that are included or touched by another selected element, or within a curve traced with the mouse.
Selection is made with the command Options->Extended selection, or with the icon

In the example below the elements are selected by the red line that intersects them.
If no element is selected, the loop function starts, which allows you to select the elements included in a freehand curve.

Clearing cloud points

It is therefore possible to work on very complex clouds with a series of tools that isolate or highlight narrow parts of the cloud, working quickly and easily. When the operations are finished all the points become visible, or what is not needed can be deleted or simplified.
Other funtionalitiess
- Locking-Unlocking of elements, Items can be locked and unlocked. Locked items cannot be moved accidentally until they are unlocked.
- Axonometry in 3D and vector view. The field of view is automatically recalculated to perfectly frame different views, sections and views. When the assonometries are placed in plan, they are automatically positioned on the project
- Layout. It is possible to duplicate a drawing sheet and change the elements of the layout without having to delete and reposition the new layers.
- Fast update. An update mode that allows you to update the program code very quickly.
In addition to these, numerous improvements have been made and errors eliminated.
